Zambia Travel Guide

Medical

Medical facilities are limited in Livingstone, and the local hospitals are not up to the standard of those in the developed world, with few doctors and drugs in limited supply. Most tour operators and upmarket lodges include MARS (medi-evac) coverage in their rates, and Sun hotels have a mini clinic for their own guests. However, there are a couple of small medical clinics in town. They stock essential medications, and can do malaria and other routine tests.

Dr Shafik's Clinic & Surgery

In addition to standard care, he is familiar with malaria and various tropical ailments, and can offer vaccinations, including yellow fever. His clinic is located on the Hospital Road on the right-hand side, between John Hunt Way and Maambo Way.
