Getting organised

Siavonga is quite a sleepy, relaxed place but it does have two banks (Standard Chartered and National Commercial), a post office and a few shops. These, together with the civic centre (which includes a police station and a courtroom), form the 'town centre' which is perched high on one of the hills. The BP station, at the turn-off to Siavonga town on the main Lusaka–Kariba Dam road, is the only fuel source around.

For shopping, Chizindikila Supermarket & Restaurant and Granny's Treasury Bakery are modest but have the basics. For fresh produce there are two markets in the town.
