None of the three main towns in this chapter – Mkushi, Serenje or Mpika – is a really attractive destination for most visitors, but they all can be useful bases, so I've grouped them here at the start of this chapter. After that I've looked at the area's real draws: Kasanka, Bangweulu, Mutinondo and Shiwa Ng'andu.
