Northwestern Zambia
West of the Copperbelt, squeezed between Angola and DRC, this area is distant from most of Zambia. This is reflected in its flora and fauna which, in parts, are much more like those of the wet tropical forests which occur to the north than those of the drier areas of the Kalahari to the south. Despite being out on a limb, the roads here generally work well, with a tar road from the Copperbelt to Mwinilunga and another being constructed over the top of the good gravel road known as the M8, which links Solwezi with Zambezi.
