Significantly cheaper than the Chrismar, and more central, the Fairview is on the left past the fire station if you're coming from Cairo Rd, opposite the Rachel Lumpa Memorial Health Centre. It is a hotel training centre, and as such you can expect very attentive service from its young personnel. En-suite rooms are old-fashioned and rather tatty but clean, with heavy wooden bedsteads and ornate mirrors; satellite TV and tea/coffee-making facilities introduce a more modern touch. The public rooms include a terrace bar overlooking Church Rd and a restaurant that serves traditional Zambian food at lunchtime Mon–Fri for Kw40,000, with a Western à la carte menu in the evenings. There's also a small business centre.
