Lusenga Plain N.P.

Lusenga Plain was originally designated as a park to protect a large open plain, fringed by swamp and dry evergreen forest and surrounded by ridges of hills, but without enough support it is now a park in name only. Poaching has reduced the game considerably and, with no internal roads in the park, there are few reasons to visit.

On its northeastern side the park is bordered by the Kalungwishi River, which passes over three beautiful waterfalls, described above.

Getting there

Recent visitors have had success in reaching the park by getting a game scout for a guide from the National Parks and Wildlife Office in Kawambwa. Otherwise the park is hard to enter. It is usually approached from the Kawambwa–Mporokoso road, and you should be very well equipped for any attempt to reach it.
