From Mbereshi to Kawambwa and Mporokoso
Turning east at Mbereshi, towards Mporokoso, you turn off the tar and on to a good gravel road. Note that after about 86km from Mporokoso there is a pontoon – the Chimpembe pontoon – across the Kalungwishi River. This only operates from 06.00 to 18.00, though you'd be very unwise to be travelling on these roads outside these hours. Mbereshi churchJust after you turn off the main road at Mbereshi, there's a church beside the road that is one of Zambia's earliest. It was built in the early 1900s by the London Missionary Society.
