Kafue National Park campsites

In this southern side of the park there are a couple of marked, organised campsites where you can camp inside the park. Facilities are minimal – usually zero – but they're certainly your wildest option in the area if you've arrived with a self-contained vehicle and your own food and water.

Heading south from the park's Musa Gate, on the southeast side of Lake Itezhi-Tezhi, the first of these is on the right, barely 600m from the gate. Mupasha Campsite (GPS: CAMPS1) is a lovely spot beside a rock kopjie on the shores of the lake. The site itself is tucked away behind a reed screen in vegetation, although there is an adjacent thatched hide from which to view the lake.

Further south, about 1km northwest of Ngoma, Amanzimtoti Campsite (GPS: AMANZI) is very clearly signposted off the road in a fairly open area… but despite this I couldn't find any trace of a place where anyone had camped.
