Zimba is the first town reached from Livingstone, after about 76km. It's about 397km to Lusaka and really only notable for having a large local market beside the main road. There's little else to detain you here, although there's basic backpackers' accommodation at Trekkers 97. Otherwise there's just a church and a couple of small shops.

About halfway between Livingstone and Zimba there's a campsite signposted to the east. Run by Mokika Botha, this has just four showers and two toilets and is 200m from the road. Barbecue packs are available, as are simple meals if you give the staff a little bit of notice. If you're driving north and need to stop, this makes for a more peaceful night than one spent in Livingstone. Other possible places to stay en route are listed under the nearest town.
