Little more than a market-lined road with a small post office, Batoka is significant for visitors as the turn-off for Lake Kariba, which is signposted to the east of the road. It's almost the midway point between Livingstone (222km) and Lusaka (251km). This isn't a natural choice for somewhere to stop, but if you're stuck, then camping is advertised at Batoka Lodge to the west of the main road.
