This has always been the main hotel in Kitwe and as of 1998 is under new ownership/management. It is situated on the corner of Independence and Obote Avenues, a few blocks north of the Oxford/Kantanta Road. Within the hotel, on its ground floor, are some useful service agencies – like a travel agent, Mercury Mail and secretarial services. Just behind the hotel is a small shopping mall, the Edinburgh Arcade, which has a wider variety of small shops.

The Edinburgh has a range of different rooms at different prices. There are executive suites, mini-suites, superior rooms, deluxe rooms, and a whole floor of budget rooms – all of which have en-suite facilities, telephones and satellite TVs. For all the guests there's the Highlander Restaurant, several bars, a casino, a swimming pool and secure parking. If you want somewhere efficient and central, this could be for you.
