Mukwa (the name of a colourful local wood) is an old colonial-style building surrounded by attractive gardens and with a swimming pool. It's also the base for a local travel agent (Trek Africa Tour & Travel, tel: 02 227217/224350) and even has Kitwe's Avis car hire agency on the premises (tel: 02 227217).

Each of the rooms has satellite TV, a direct-dial telephone, a small fridge, complementary fruit basket and a facility for making tea and coffee. There's also a 'pool bar' here for relaxing, as well as the smart Indian/continental restaurant mentioned below.
