There was a time (eg: when the first edition of this book was written) when there was little choice of accommodation in Kitwe, and that which existed was poor value. However, that's all changed as small guesthouses seem to have sprung up everywhere, leaving the large old hotels like the Edinburgh with no choice but to reform radically or go out of business.
