Endesha Guest House

(9 rooms) Parirenyatwa Rd, PO Box 32372; tel: 225780/1; fax: 225781
Very close to the Cairo Road area, but in a quiet location, Endesha opened early in 1999 and is clearly marked. Leave town on Church Rd, take a left on to Makishi Rd, just after the fire station, then turn first right; Endesha is on your right. It is run by Mohamed Ali Hanslot, who also owns a similar guesthouse in Ndola. All its rooms have the luxury of a double and a single bed, though their décor is simple, and perhaps a little stark, with just the odd picture. Each room has a TV, a small fridge and a fan. More expensive rooms have en-suite showers/toilets, whilst standard rooms have private facilities just across the corridor. All are small but clean.

Endesha's communal areas are less stark than the rooms, and the lounge area even has a big goldfish tank. Outside, the private parking area is protected by high walls and a sliding security gate, within sight of the outside thatched bar, which is used by residents and guests only. Meals are available on request, or guests may use the kitchen to cook for themselves.
