Chamafumba Camp
Contact via Pioneer Campsite, Lusaka This is a small and very simple fishing camp on the north bank of the Kafue River, about 8km east of Leopard Lodge, after the river leaves the park. It is reached by turning off the road at n TUCHAM 14º30.920'S; 26º29.202'E. (It's marked as Mbizi on some maps.) It's been simply refurbished in 2004 as a small self-catering camp with two en-suite chalets, a dining room and a kitchen. There's also a campsite here, with its own ablution block. If you're driving around in a self-contained 4WD and want to stop for a few nights' relaxation and fishing, then it might be worth giving them a call. It's owned by Chris Wienand, who also runs Pioneer campsite in Lusaka and a large game ranch in the Luangwa Valley.
