Where to stay
There are several lodges in the valley and a few campsites as well. Almost all are good, although they have quite different styles of operating. For the most part, power is either solar generated or supplied by battery, so needs to be used sparingly. With advance booking and a 4WD, you can drive yourself into any of these, but most people arrange for a transfer by road or charter flight. Establishments to the west of the national park are in the Chiawa GMA. All visitors in the park will be asked to pay a levy of US$2 per person per day towards Conservation Lower Zambezi, an organisation committed to the protection of the wildlife and habitat of the national park and the Chiawa GMA.
