Horse-riding

Riding along the Zambezi and through the bush is a wonderful way to experience nature up close. You can choose from rides as short as a couple of hours to half- and full-day trips with lunch. there are two operators offering horse-back safaris in the falls area: in Zambia, Chundukwa adventure trails, and in Zimbabwe, Zambezi horse trails. Both can offer guided trips for all levels in the bush: day trips for novices in search of game, as well as longer sojourns with fully catered overnight camps (or optional lodge stays) for more experienced riders.

Would-be polocross players are invited to watch and, if experienced, join in with local teams playing at Chundukwa on Thursday and Sunday afternoon (from about April through September).

Rates: US$45–65 per person. Chundukwa Adventure Trails 11/2-hour ride US$35, 21/2 hours US$45; half day (no lunch) US$65; half day with lunch US$70; full day with lunch and drinks US$90
