Puku Ridge

Barely a kilometre from its sister-lodge, Chichele, Puku Ridge is a very new camp which opened in July 2003. It stands on the side of a rocky outcrop, overlooking a lovely floodplain on the south side of South Luangwa. Like Chichele, this gives it a view from a height that few of Luangwa's camps can match.

Each of Puku Ridge's walk-in safari tents has a private veranda outside, whilst inside are two twin beds (or a double or a king-size), surrounded by a walk-in mosquito net. There's also a private bathroom with a flush toilet and basin, plus indoor and outdoor showers and a sunken bath – demonstrating a relatively high level of luxury by Luangwa standards. Expect hair dryers and tea- and coffee-making facilities in the rooms, and activities including walks and drives.
